During Lent and as part of our Year of Prayer our church communities were invited to create ‘Lenten Inches of Art’. People of all ages took one or more pieces of an inch-square block of painted wood and have represented something of their journey through Lent. Of course, during this period our gathering together has been transformed by coronavirus and measures of social-distancing and isolation. This sad and terrible virus that has swept across the globe is also reflected through some of our thoughts and visual representations.
Below is a digital gallery of our artwork, reflection, and our prayers. You can click on the images to take a closer look.

Journeying through Lent many of my thoughts and prayers have led me to photographs and memories of people, places and stories. These thoughts and images led me to think of Jesus, his mother Mary, and the disciples’ journeying through the events of the Garden at Gethsemane to Easter Sunday and ‘the [eternal] riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory’.
