Here we will seek to provide updates about Church and community activities, online social events, and ways in which you might volunteer or support those in our communities and wider world who are struggling more than ever at the moment.

Longsight and Ardwick COVID-19 Mutual Aid Group

Our church is now part of the COVID-19 Mutual Aid Group for the Longsight and Ardwick Wards in Manchester. This means we share information about community needs and participate in communication meetings with several groups working in the community: local ward officers, local councillors, churches, housing trusts, charities and NHS groups.

We will keep sharing information as regularly as we can about how people can involved, but for now – as well as individual support, one of the best things we can do is to support our local Food Bank, ‘The Ardwick and Longsight Foodbank’ (see below for details).

Download a list of ways you can help as well as support information during this outbreak of COVID-19 including how you can continue to help our BOAZ Night Shelter and Longsight and Ardwick Food Bank

All donations are welcome but this week our Food Bank is particularly in need of:

  • Canned fruit
  • Rice pudding
  • Custard
  • Spaghetti hoops
  • Noodles of all types
  • Rice, dried or micro packs
  • Canned vegetables
  • Packs of dried channa dhal and dried red lentils
  • Ladies sanitary towels (not tampons at the moment as we have quite a lot)
  • Nappies sizes 5 and 6 (not pull-ups)
  • Chocolate bard and sweets for children
  • Biscuits and snacks

Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM)

NCM partners with local churches around the world to clothe, shelter, feed, heal, educate, and live in solidarity with those in need. At this present time you can read about, pray and help to support various ministries around the world seeking to support people through this outbreak of COVID-19.

Contact Simon Crane if you can cook a hot meal (with disposable containers and cutlery) or deliver to their doorstep (or both!). The men who would usually be guests at our Friday Night Shelter are currently guests in houses in Gorton/Longsight (6 guys) and Stretford (3 guys).

Simon can provide disposable takeaway boxes and cutlery if needed. Contact Simon for more information:
