Imposition of ashes
Join in worship at the start of this Lenten season
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season of repentance, fasting, and abstinence in preparation for the joy of Easter.
Come and participate in this online service where we make a sign of the cross on our foreheads using ash (traditionally made by burning a palm cross from last year’s Easter celebrations). This is an outward sign of an inner step, a movement of the heart towards Jesus Christ. This traditional act helps to remind us of our mortality and is a symbol of penitence or being sorry for having done something wrong.
