Prayer

It’s important that we continue to explore, grow, and deepen in our walk with Jesus each day. Here you will find some basic resources and invitations to help you to explore prayer and to pray for the needs in our world.

Wesleyan Covenant Service, January 2022

These are some of the resources and prayers that helped to guide us through the Covenant Prayer in January 2022. You might like to gather similar resources and pray from home. The Methodist Church provide a good explanation of what the Covenant Prayer is about.

Pray through the week

Similar to the Prayer for the Nation (below), build a rhythm of daily prayer by focussing on specific themes for each day of the week.

A further Daily Prayer Guide resource written by Tearfund and Neighbourhood Prayer Network can be downloaded below.

Prayer for the Nation

As part of our 2020 Year of Prayer we joined with a national call to prayer for the nation at 6:00pm each evening throughout ‘Lockdown#2’ (November 5th-December 2nd 2020) with a particular focus on the current Coronavirus pandemic.

Even though those dates have passed, we encourage you to continue to pray. Below are the daily Prayers For The Nation (adapted). Each day of the week has a different focus for prayer. Why not download them or print them as a reminder to pray?

Follow with us here or CLICK HERE to set your own rhythm of prayer using the resources on the Prayer For The Nation website.

Open for Prayer

Our church building is usually open each Wednesday morning. You are welcome to pop in to pray, receive prayer, or find a quiet space in our sanctuary or garden.*

Wednesdays 10:30am to 12:30pm

*Please note that, although we have implemented Government guidance for places of worship during this time of Covid-19, we may need to cancel worship or meetings in the building at short notice in response to most Government recent advice or restrictions.

Personal prayer time during Covid-19 (2020-2021)
We sometimes use candles to help us to focus on our prayers, or as a reminder that Jesus is the Light of the World and hears our prayers. We don’t worship the candle but it can be helpful to light a candle as an outward symbol of the person or places that you pray for
